Candi stirred under the white blankets, her eyes closed tight and her breath uneven. Beads of sweat streamed down from her forehead. She widened her eyes almost instantly and swiftly sat up in the hospital bed she was occupying, regretting it as she felt a head splitting migraine coming on. She groaned and lay herself back down on the fluffy pillow.
The brown eyed girl closed her eyes and exhaled a large amount of air, but when she didn't feel the comfort of sleep she opened her eyes once again.
It took her a while for the scenery before her very eyes to completely process within her brain. 'Where am I...?' The ceiling was white and the four walls were completely white as well. Memories of the events that happened earlier swept across her mind and she finally realized where she was. She was currently resting in the Briarstone Medical Hospital.
Her body didn't feel as heavy as it did before, but it was still way too painful to be able to get up without yelping in pain. Candi closed her eyes and this time sleep had obliged her wishes and claimed her.

Finding her daughter looking a bit too pale and seemingly weak on a hospital bed was enough to make her crumble down into tears. Candi was always the strong one, and seeing a daughter in this state was just unbearable for a mother. She knew, however, that she had to be strong for her daughter so it took a great amount of her being to muster up enough strength to stop herself from crying.
Julian took a little longer but only by minutes, he shoved the door to room 208 open. He only arrived about a minute before his mother but his frustration took the better of him so he "accidentally" screamed at the woman in the front desk and was almost thrown out of the hospital. Thankfully though, he finally calmed down and told the woman he was Candi's brother.
When he walked in he wasn't expected to find the scene before him. Candi looked so vulnerable, so weak. He couldn't stand it! Out of everyone in the family she had the feiry atittude and the strong will. He even remembered a time where she stood up for him and Bea. The bullies were a lot older than the twins, even one or two years older than Candi. Yet she managed to save them both, and herself. He collapsed on one the chair beside the one his mother was occupying, his face paling slightly.
Bea ran in, gasping for breathe. She was looking down at the floor, breathing heavily but, like her brother and mother, the sight in front of her wasn't something she could take. However, instead of thinking before she acted, Bea collapsed down and started to sob. Julian walked over to Bea and hugged her like a comforting brother would. Helping her up, he let her sit at his seat since there was none left. Her tears, however, weren't disappearing anytime soon.
When Candi finally woke up, it was louder than it should've been in the hospital room. It didn't seem like anything was wrong at all. After a couple of light conversation Julian walked their mother hope, which left Bea and Candi. As she talked to her older sister about her day, Candi cracked a joke or two and teased her like she usually would, laughs were shared and they continued to chatter; not once thinking about what had happened to Candi earlier that day.
Julian came back, and the room became even more chaotic. They were silenced though when a doctor came in giving them a glare and a warning. Laughing a bit, they talked a bit longer until Candi had fallen asleep.
Silence. Then Bea remembered something and knowing Julian, he wouldn't leave her older sister's side just yet. No matter how much anyone tried to convince him.
"Hey Julian, do you mind if I go visit someone else at room 267? It's Jess' older brother, Zack I think. Apparently he got into an accident too." Bea asked and after seeing Julian nod in agreement she slowly went out of the room. Since she overheard the woman behind the front desk telling her where Jess' brother was, she walked towards room 267.

Bea gently opened the door to the room and stepped inside. Seeing the Julian was now reading a magazine he had found in the room. Looking up when he heard the door click, he asked "So what's up with Jess' older bro?"
"Just a concussion, and more serious injuries than Candi has. You cannot believe what I just found out." Bea said, then she started chattering away; telling Julian about everything she found out. About the thug. And about Francis and Zack. Bea, however, didn't notice that Candi was wide awake, her eyes tightly shut. She had to supress her gasp when she found out what Zack had done, she seriously had to thank him later, and the Francis guy.
Candi pretended to still be asleep while stirring in the bed and covering her head with the blanket. Tears appearing in the corner of her eyes. She didn't want to remember it though, not after it had only been hours since it happened. It hurt. And knowing that if Zack and Francis hadn't come on time, then she would be...no, she wouldn't think about it. Not right now.

Both Julian and Bea stayed in the room a while longer and Candi had fallen asleep once again. Because of all the things that happened, and all the emotions they had felt; Bea had fallen asleep as well. Julian just sat on the sofe and stared out the window, looking at the infinite stars that were cast upon the night sky.
A couple more minutes and he checked the time. Seeing as it was getting late he shook Bea gently. "Yo sis, we gotta go home now. I'd stay longer but I can't trust you to go walk alone or be in a house with only mom and Karmen to watch over you."
Bea stood up, scratched her eyes and yawned sleepily "So, can't we just stay here?"
"Nope. Besides Candi's gonna be released tomorrow. So there's no point in worrying too much.
"Ok then." the twin girl agreed, the looked at the sleeping form of Candi and smiled softly "See ya tomorrow sis."
The two walked out the door, Bea rushing ahead to get home and sleep as soon as she could, so there was quite a distance between her and Julian.

It had been a while since Bea and Julian left the hospital room where the once sleeping woman, was now fully awake. Candi rolled over to her side, facing the window, looking out at the night lights of Briarstone County. It was pretty late, so some of the lights started to shut down.
Candi sighed, what was wrong with her? She was usually a deep sleeper, easily awoken yea, but she wouldn't wake up until dawn or later. It was probably the feeling of wanting to regurgitate yet not, at the same time. The feeling of having the pit of your stomach, clench; and your chest area, tighten so much that it seemed as if you couldn't breathe no longer. And the nagging in the back of your mind. It was guilt, and she knew it.
Usually she'd be searching for him in a split second and giving him her gratitude. But this was another situation. She had only met the guy a couple of hours ago, and just recently he had saved her. Why? That was what Candi was thinking so hard about. Surely no man could be that good-hearted...unless...
Candi shook her head. Impossible. As much as she wanted it to be it wasn't probable. A couple of hours isn't enough time to be able to harbor enough feelings to save someone's life. At least...that's what she thought...
Having finally made a decision Candi slowly lifted herself off the bed and onto a sitting position. Putting on the hospital slippers she walked towards the door and exited her room. And as she left to go to room 267 (overheard it from Bea) her heart clenched tighter than it had a moment before and the atmosphere seemed heavier and hotter than it first was.
