"I'm here for work," Zack said brightly, closing the door behind him. The nightclub was practically empty of guests, except for a few men drowning their sorrows in tall tumblers and a handful of girls and boys checking each other out. No sooner did he position himself behind the main bar than customers started asking for drinks, and Zack busied himself with looking at the people of Briarstone and taking orders. OOC: Anyone can come in.

Candi was now in front of the club, with Devon and her other friends beside her.
"We can't just stay outside now can we? C'mon people we're heading in." Devon said, grasping Candi's hand. Before she had time to protest though she was pulled inside the club.
The girls and guys, in a sort of unspoken agreement, went out to the dance floor. Candi, being the party girl she was, started to dance wildly to the fast paced song that was on together with the others. The club already being packed with people, and since it wasn't exactly her first time doing this. Candi wasn't at all bothered by the grinding of the bodies while she danced.
Devon danced over to Candi and gave her a wink before he danced together with her. And no, there was no physical touching involved.

Finally, customers, Zack thought to himself as he heard the small bell attached to the bar's front door ring. He finished buffing the countertop before turning to see where the group had gone, but noticed that they wanted to dance instead and went back to cleaning. Then he looked up and instantly recognized the face, laughing like she had laughed with him... Candi. He dropped the cloth he had been using, picked it up, and checked again without being too obvious. Yup, definitely her. Taking a deep breath, Zack shook his head, willing himself not to mind that she was dancing with a guy who was obviously very much attracted to her. This is work, not personal business, he thought hard, cleaning the countertop even if he could already see his reflection in it. Get back to WORK.

Candi continued to dance, and somehow, in the middle of all the partying she felt hands on leaning on her waist. She looked up to find Devon acting as if nothing had happened, with a small smug smirk on his face; even if it wasn't directed at her she was kind of annoyed at how he was acting.
"Ummm, listen Devon. I'm getting kinda tired, I think I'll go get myself a drink." Candi said, quickly pushing his hands off her waist. Noticing this gesture made Devon frowned, his eyebrows creasing.
"I'll come with y--" He started but was interrupted
"No, no I don't want to ruin your fun. Just continue on what you were doing." Candi said before walking past the dancing crowd and sat down in the bar. She put her thumb and index finger in the bridge of her nose in annoyance while closing her eyes.

She was here, two feet away, and he was... what? Polishing an already excessively clean beer mug. She was feeling down, and he was... what? Pretending that the beer mug had a spot. She looked as if she was meant to be taken in his arms, made for him as if he had ordered her, and he was... what? Too shy to even say hi. Mentally smacking himself on the forehead, Zack cleared his throat, hoping that she'd recognize his voice.
"What'll it be?"
Genius, Zachariah.

ooc: LOL! SORI FOR SOME REASON I CANT STOP LAUGHING! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...mayb its all the air ive been sucking up...hold on i wont breathe for some time *stops breathing* *dies* BUT THAT WONT STOP ME FROM REPLYING! GYAHAHAHAHA!
Candi sighed, hearing the bartender ask for what she wanted. "One apple martini please." she slouched in her seat, her shoulder sloping, her right hand over her mouth in signifance of irritation, while her left hand lazily laying on the counter top. Her eyes still shut.
Wait a minute. That voice sounded familiar, but yet she couldn't quite place it. Candi parted her eyes lids slightly and recognized the bartender as Zack.
"Zack!" she exclaimed in surprise, causing her form to jump slightly
The guy she met in the park earlier was here, working here. The guy that had occupied her deep thoughts was right in front of her. And she probably looked like a completely pathetic mess.

It wasn't very nice to experience total grief and then a sudden jolt of happiness one after the other. Zack, a bit dazed, grinned back. "Hi, Candi. ...Out with some friends, I see?" He had learned to mix drinks back with some college classmates, and his deft hands poured out some vodka and apple liqueur, blending the two together in just the right combination for an apple Martini. He shook the liquid over some ice and strained it into a thingytail glass, adding a slice of apple on the rim. "Here you go. That'll be $14, please."

"Thanks." Candi said, picking up the apple martini in her hands and gently putting the glass against her mouth. She sipped only a bit before putting it back down. Taking her wallet out from her handbag, she put $14 on the counter.
"Friends/Co-workers actually..." Candi corrected as she stared blankly at the wall the lay behind Zack. If she were in a normal state of mind right now she'd actually be glad to be able to talk to Zack, but her day was pretty tough on her. After all, today was the anniversary of her father's death, although, the family didn't want to celebrate. Sure it wasn't very respectful and loving but it'd just ruin the whole day, week, or month (especially for Candi).
With that and the annoying situation with Devon she was under in right now, no wonder she was down. The guy's incessent flirting was starting to annoy her, but she just shrugged the gesture off. For some reason, he's been hitting on her more often today than he did on past days, right now Devon was anything but help.

"That your boyfriend?"
He had tried to keep the question light as he took the money and put it in the cash box, but it came out cold, hard, his voice edged with steel. Of course, he then turned red and bumped his head on one of the cabinets above the counter, which made him embarrassed all the more.
What is it with you and girls? This one's no different! In fact, you weren't this weird even when they were flat-out refusing you!

When she heard Zack's abrupt question, her eyebrows furrowed. What the h*** was with his tone? Before she had the time to ask him just that, he had bumped his head against the closet about the counter.
Seeing that lightened the mood of the whole atmosphere by an incredible amout. Candi started to giggle, which later on turned into a laugh. After doing so, she took a small sip from her apple martini to calm herself down.
Devon glared in irritation as he watched the scene before him continue to unfold. Apparently, the d*** bartender knew his...that's right his...Candi. Just to be on the safe side though, he continued to watch the ongoing scene.
ooc: as if Devon couldn't have come in an ever WORSE time!...IM GOOD IM GOOD IM RILI RILI GOOD!

OOC: lol what's with the typos? dafe=safe? J/K cuz
He stopped, quite red with shame, and then laughed along. "Candi, you sure do know how to make things better," he said absentmindedly, not realizing that he had just paid her a compliment that might--just might--sound like a flirt. Zack ducked under the table to throw out some extra apple peelings and an old alkaline-leaking battery he found on the floor. But something did keep nagging him, at the back of his head.
She never really answered the question... so that means it could be yes or no.

ooc: You made me twitch cuzzy...i hate typos but I cant seem to stop makin em...ahh well and you know what i just realized? I made Devon sound like an obssessed wierdo...YEY! haha
Was Zack just flirting? Candi thought, a small unnoticed-by-her smile surfacing and her eyebrow quirking.
"Candi, love, you've rested enough. C'mon you should be having fun! Not boring yourself by sitting her all evening." a voice she didn't want to hear so soon called out to her. She felt just fine with the choice of sitting here the rest of the night and talk to Zack, but apparently Devon thought otherwise. He appeared behind her, wrapping one of his firm arms around Candi's shoulders.
This caused Candi to snarl in annoyance. "Let. Go. Devon just don't alright?" she warned, shooting a cold glare at him. She was now thoroughly p*ss*d she didn't want to deal with another one of the b*st*rd's flirtatious acts.
Seeing the look on Candi's face Devon decided to back off...for now. Soon enough...
Soon enough.

Fists clenching and unclenching under the counter, Zack told himself to keep under control. Assaulting a customer would surely get him fired, and besides--he had to get his temper down again, or else the Alejo streak of fire would get into his veins and then there would be trouble for everyone. Zack smiled faintly, remembering when he had beat up a classmate and his mother had just offered the explanation of 'Alejo blood'. It was the American Indian in him.
"You okay?" he asked Candi worriedly, making sure that the Devon guy was far away from him before doing so, of course. He wasn't as fit as he should have been, and he'd probably lose in a fight against the bigger guy.

"I'm alright thanks." Candi said, giving him a reassuring smile. She hid the surprise she felt when she actually heard utter sincere from his voice when he asked if she was alright. After finishing the glass of apple martini Candi decided to get out of here. "Again thanks a bunch Zack I'll see you tomorrow alright? I just really need to go home now. Having a tough day ya know?" she said with a hollow laugh. Candi stood up and walked out of the club. When she was out and looking up at the starry night sky she breathed in deeply, closing her eyes in relaxation.
This was perfect, indescribably perfect. After Candi had told him off he decided to watch her carefully, and when he saw her take her leave he smirked maniaclly. And with that same smirk, he followed Candi outside.

ooc: oh, so it's night now?
The sun had just set, and Zack looked out the only visible window he could find as the guests left. Something felt empty, and he realized he hadn't even gotten a chance to tell her goodbye either, but then he had a job to do, and leaving his post would set the manager on him. He looked around the club, frowning slightly. Where was Francis, the bouncer? He usually came at around this hour or earlier to keep out innocent teens. The guy looked menacing, but he had a good heart, and Zack knew that he was almost a manager too as well as bouncer. He also had high regard for customer safety at the nightclub. Which meant he wouldn't bite Zack's head off if Zack went outside and investigated...
This last thought came as he barged out the door, fearing that what he suspected of Devon was true. Was it too late? He scanned Djan street for Candi.
OOC: Move to the Main Board of Djan St., please.
